Remember Your Chromosomes

I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.
Psalm 139:14

Ecclesiastes 11:5

You inherited 46 chromosomes (23 pairs) from your mother and father, half of each pair from each parent. The half-pairs united at your conception as a single-cell being. From the beginning, human beings have replicated the same shape—two arms, two legs, one head, and so on—while varying in the details—eye and hair color, facial characteristics, height and shape—based on the genetic markers aligned on the chromosomes. Indeed, we (as well as all creation) are "fearfully and wonderfully made."

The consistency of God's design of human beings (and other animal and plant species) reflects the consistency of His purpose. As Paul said in Romans 1:19-20, the evidence for God's purposeful existence is all around us, not least in those who bear His divine image on the earth (Genesis 1:26-27). Life is not random as evolutionists would have us believe. Rather, the consistency of design in creation reflects the dominance of God's controlling purpose.

On days that appear to be without purpose in your life, remember your chromosomes: steady, purposeful, and unwavering as the purpose of God.

He that is made in the image of God must know him or be desolate.
