Working out at home with a good fitness program is the best way to lose weight AND get fit, have more energy during the day, lower cholesterol, and so much more. Granted, not all at-home fitness programs do much for us, but that is why I love the BeachBody programs, which are FUN, and give me great results because they are made my professional fitness trainers like Tony Horton and Chalene Johnson.
Most people don't like to go to the gym, but on the same token they believe they can not lose weight UNLESS they go to the gym. Well, if you choose a good fitness program like Power 90 or P90X made by Tony Horton, or Turbo Jam or ChaLEAN Extreme made by Chalene Johnson, they will definitely get great results working out at home.
The fitness programs are there, but we won't get results unless we commit to actually working out, though. Professional trainers offer us amazing programs that will give us results at home, but if we purchase them and just work out one to two weeks and then leave them there to collect dust, we will not get the results we expected to get. We need to actually COMMIT to following the program for 90 days. The trainers will keep us motivated when you press play, but you NEED TO PRESS PLAY....
I personally hate going to the gym. I purchased a 3-year membership to Bally's several years ago because I thought that spending the money ahead of time would keep me motivate to go every day. I was wrong, though. Life got in the way, so to speak, and it was hard for me to commute to the gym. Time went by, and I moved and never went back to Bally's. I lost the money I had invested, and they could not care less. You see, their job is to get you to GET the membership; they actually expect you NOT to go. Those are the words of my sister-in-law who was a high-sales membership salesperson for 24-hour fitness about 10 years ago. She mentioned that if everyone that purchased the membership actually went, they wouldn't have enough space or equipment for everyone. Gym directors and the people that sell us memberships actually EXPECT us to fail at our commitment to fitness. How sad is that?
On the other hand, if you purchase a program from BeachBody, for example, you actually get a coach that you can contact at any time and that can help keep you motivated. BeachBody WANTS you to succeed, so they created a program a year and a half ago where they connect customers with coaches. Everyone can be a coach, as long as they are committed to their own fitness and have a strong desire to help others be committed to their fitness goals. The job of the coach is simply to motivate and encourage those assigned to them to continue on the program, and answer any questions they may have. They don't have to have all the answers, but have the responsibility of finding the answer for them or point them in the right direction so they can get the answer.
I love working out at home with ChaLEAN Extreme and Turbo Jam. Chalene Johnson keeps me motivated all the way through the programs. Everytime I press play, she motivates me to do the workout all the way through, even when I feel too tired to work out. My only responsibility is to schedule in the workout on my calendar, decide what I will do, and then on the day and time appointed, I need to pick up that workout DVD and press play. Chalene motivates me to continue until the end, so I can get the results I desire.
Working out at home can give you wonderful results, as long as the fitness programs are made by professional fitness experts that make it FUN and keep you motivated all the way through. Not all programs are the same, so search for one that will be fun for you and commit to doing it. Make exercise a habit and you will get lasting results.
